Contact Network from Observed Disease Infections
The aim of the CODI (Contact Network from Observed Disease Infection) challenge is to reliably reconstruct the contact network information given a synthetic representation of a region and data of synthetic pandemic outbreaks. This challenge addresses a problem that is at the intersection of public health and network science. The dataset includes synthetic populations of selected Virginia counties and synthetic pandemic outbreaks simulated for these counties by an agent-based model using an SIR disease model. The objective is to predict edges of the synthetic contact network over which the disease spreads in the simulation. The prediction will be evaluated using its precision-recall AUC.
